Relax, take in the fresh ocean air and sail on our Jeanneau 46 sailboat through the Santa Barbara Channel. There's plenty of wildlife and gorgeous scenery along the Ventura coast. We never know when we might spot the Humpback whales and large numbers of dolphins. If you want to help sail or take a quick lesson, we'd love to have you bear a hand. Must be able to negotiate a steep 5-step ladder and be able to grasp handrails firmly in rough sea. Life jackets are worn throughout and the captain gives a thorough briefing on safety considerations before getting underway. Guests with disabilities cannot be accommodated for this experience. Kids in sixth grade or higher are invited. We've found that children in lower grades aren't ready to sail for extended periods.
This is a weather dependant experience. Ventura has some of the best sailing weather in the world, still we are very cautious and carefully check forecast weather. We want you to be comfortable and will generally not sail in rain or fog or when seas are particularly rough. Please phone in before leaving home.
Casual, outdoor clothing, sweater, windbreaker, white-soled sneakers, socks, and sunscreen. Temperatures at sea are frequently 10-15 degrees cooler than ashore and we need wind to move. So, no matter how warm it is at your hotel, bring a windbreaker and sweatshirt or sweater.
